Perfect PearlsPerfect Pearls are fine pigment powders. There are a variety of colours now available. StampingThe powders come with a Perfect Medium stamp pad. Using this pad, ink your stamp and stamp on to card stock, you can use plain or glossy card stock. You will not be able to see the stamped image easily, but when angled in the light you will be able to see the image. Next choose the powder you wish to use and apply using the large paintbrush provided. Push the powder into the stamped image. You can add as many colours as you wish. When you have covered the image brush off the excess powder then lightly wipe over the whole image with dry kitchen paper. This removes all the excess powder and leaves a wonderful pearlised finish. PaintingPerfect Pearls are easy to paint with and give a wonderful pearl effect. Use a separate mixing palette and transfer a little powder with the thinner brush into the palette. Using the same brush add a little water. Mix the powder and water to form paint, adding more water or more powder to achieve the required consistency. That is it, ready to paint! When you have finished using the pain you may leave it to dry and next time you want to use it simply add a little water to reconstitute the paint. SpritzingUse a spritzer bottle, add a little powder and then add water. Mix the two together and test the colour by spraying a little on to card stock, add more powder or water until you have the colour required. You can spritz any of your papers to give an irregular pearlised finish. Colour WashAfter stamping and colouring an image you can add a colour wash to your project to give a pearlised finish. Mix a little powder to quite a lot of water, you do not want a thick paint for washing, always test the wash on a scrap piece of paper before applying to your finished project. Apply the water mix to your stamped image using a large brush or sponge. Apply in quick even strokes so you do not smudge the stamped image. You can create antique effects using this technique. EmbossingTake one part embossing powder and a smaller quantity of Perfect Pearls and mix lightly together. Use the powder in the same way as embossing powder. This can give really effective textural results to your embossing - but you may have to practice with the mix of the powders to achieve the perfect result (always make a note of the quantities mixed so you will be able to do it again if you like it!). |
